![]() I then "installed" the printer by adding it as a device in Printers & Scanners. Since I couldn't print or scan anyway, I figured I had nothing to lose. Over the weekend I tried completely removing all the Brother software/drivers. I got back the typical "have you updated Windows 10? Are you sure?" which I guess is an OK place to start, though I'm pretty sure I stated Win10 was fully up-to-date in my initial query. I asked Brother for support through their web page, describing the issue as above. I've been chipping away at this one when I get a spare minute. I know there's nothing actually wrong with the MFC-7440N, because I can print and even scan with it from the Brother Android app on my phone. Got a message saying it "doesn't apply" to my PC. I did not have that one install automatically so tried to do it manually. ![]() ![]() Supposedly this "suddenly network printers no longer work" thing was fixed in KB4567512. It is a cumulative update which cannot be simply "uninstalled." ![]() However I cannot "uninstall" KB4560960 as the article suggests. I found that print jobs would usually print if I rebooted the system, right after reboot. Some time in the last few months, I stopped being able to print or scan from my Brother MFC-7440N. This is an older one, supposedly officially "fixed" but I wonder whether the official solution worked for OP? Still broken for me.
